Highest Performance Silver Mesh Fabric

This is the highest EMF and RF (electrical and radio frequency) shielding fabric suitable for canopies that we’ve found on the market today.  This is the one to use if you are impacted by frequencies from a cell tower, radar tower, electrical tower or have lots of WiFi or cellphone use going on around you such as you would have in a densely populated urban area. In addition to being highly effective it is a stylish taupe color, with a lovely, sheer, somewhat stretchy drape.

It is made from silver coated knitted nylon, with the 99%-pure silver metal providing very effective EMF shielding from low intensity radiofrequency and microwaves (for example: WiFi, Bluetooth, cellphones, celltowers, remote controls that do not require line of sight, etc). Plus, it is also an excellent electric field shield when grounded, shielding from electro magnetic fields (EMF) you get from any electrically powered device or wiring circuitry.  Simple grounding can be done by connecting a metal wire from the fabric, perhaps out the window, to the ground. Or, (carefully) using your electrical socket’s grounding capability.

The shielding effectiveness of this >99% pure silver-coated nylon is greater than 50dB from 30MHz to 3 GHz. In other words this fabric offers a very high 99% protection from low intensity RF, Microwaves and Electrical EMF (refer to specific examples in the above description).

Applications: 
With a nice draping effect this fabric is well suited for bed canopies as well as window curtains, either alone as a sheer, or as curtain backing, or between layers of regular drapery fabric. It can also be used in many imaginative ways from covering your microwave oven or computer monitor, to wrapping light cords or circuit boxes. We’ve even seen it made into a hat and a lampshade. It can also be used to sandwich between your bed sheets to create quick, easy EMF protection in places like hotel rooms or sleeping areas where your EMF exposure is unknown but highly suspect.

Note: the effectiveness of the EMF blocking properties will naturally vary depending on your use of fabric, shielding design etc.  It is always smart to monitor-check your design to determine its effectiveness in any case.

Care: 
This fabric cleans well with simply a light vacuuming, but is also washable by hand rinsing, or on delicate cycle, with mild soap; heavy or frequent washing, rubbing etc. will degrade the silver coating.  Air dry only – no dryer heat or ironing.

Other Considerations:
This is the fabric we chose for our demonstration canopy (pictured at left) because of its very high EMF shielding/blocking capability. The video clearly demonstrates that zero EMF or EMR penetrates this canopy, and this was our priority. 

In practical use you may notice that the fabric weave is dense enough to conserve some body heat of the sleepers and keep the sleeping environment cozy so generally lighter sleep wear, less bed clothes and blankets are needed.  Although the fabric is sturdy, the EMF-shielding coasting is susceptible to wear if rubbed on floors, walls, bedframes etc, so care must be taken.

If cool air-flow into the sleeping space is more desirable then one of the fabric sides (the side exposed to the least EMF source) can easily be opened to allow breeze into the sleep space, however some EMF protection will naturally be lost. Or, another alternative to facilitate more air flow is to select a fabric with a more open weave, such as the ones below (again at some degree of EMF protection loss)measuring

High Performing RF Shielding Eco-Cotton Fabric

Where moderate EMF shielding is needed, this translucent, white or ecru (unbleached) eco fabric is so skin compatible and finely woven it can be used for baby clothes, yet it offers a good amount of radio frequency shielding (from such devices as WiFi, Bluetooth, cordless phones, cellphone and cell towers, microwave leakage , TV broadcast, etc).

Specs: 30 dB at 1G attenuation

Again the cost of the fabric depends on the size of your bedframe and your mattress (King, Queen or Twin), the fullness of drape you desire, and the fabric overlap. Prices are also subject to change. Applications:
It is an excellent skin compatible fabric, certified to contain no harmful or toxic substances and no flame retardants.  Typical application includes bed canopies, curtains or drapes, however it is so “people friendly” it has also been used for EMF-shielding under garments, even so far as being used in baby’s underwear.

Extremely thin copper wires have been coated with silver then encircled with eco-cotton yarn. The threads are then woven into washable, comfortable, and durable fabric with the look and feel of normal fabric material.  The metal on the inside of the cotton fiber contributes to more durability, thus making it particularly easy to wash, iron, cut and sew.

Care:
Machine wash (gentle cycle), cold water, no bleach.  Hang dry. Iron without steam, low heat. Do not dry clean.

EMF Shielding Veil for Curtains

Designed for high EMF Shielding, this fabric is as light as a veil, yet highly transparent for uses where you want to see through the EMF shield. Its mesh is so fine you can barely see it, allowing 70% light transmission yet it offering high performance (40dB or better and 0.1 ohm/sq resistivity), along with the advantages of its ultra light weight and flexibility. 

The woven 132/inch mesh polyester fibers, (with 0.0068” openings) are coated with Nickel/Zinc Copper for better corrosion resistance.  Very easy to handle but not suitable for prolonged skin contact (if, for example, you have a Nickel allergy).

Applications:
Great for window coverings, curtains, or anywhere you want to see through the EMF shield or let scenery or sunlight in.  It has also been used on video, TV and computer screens.

Care:
Do not machine wash or dry clean. This fabric can be cleaned with a dry brush, or wiped with damp cloth, or rinsed in plain water. Hang to air dry. Do not iron. Heavy or frequent washing will degrade the metal coating.
